If you think that Sheepadoodle is a pure dog, you are totally wrong. This dog is a crossbreed between and Old English Sheepdog and the Poodle. So, it is not a pure dog. Same as the other breeds, this breed can inherit the best traits of its parent breeds. This breed is originated in the U.S. because the US Army developed this breed in the 1960 as a military police dog. Because Sheepadoodle is hybrid, this type of dog is not recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). However, it is registered with the American Canines Hybrid Club (ACHC), Dog Registry of America (DRA) and International Designer Canine Registry (IDCR). This breed is also called Sheepapoo, Sheep-A Poo, Sheeppoo, Sheepdoo, Sheepdogdoodle and dleSheepdogpo.

This breed has 13 to 24 inches in height and 60 to 80 pounds in weight. It can live up to 12 to 15 years. It is hypoallergenic so that people who have allergy can own this dog but of course you need to consult to your doctor about how severe your allergy is. Sheepadoodle has sturdy and solid builds. Their head is broad and the ears hang down and on the overall the skull seems dome shaped. This breeds come up to have faces with black and brown feathered shaped eyes. This breed is known for being sweet, gentle, affectionate, happy and most of all silly. However, they are smart and loyal. They can be a great family dog because they can get on well with everyone of all ages. In addition, they are also playful, loving and quiet dog so it makes them perfect for adoption. How to train this breed? As mentioned previously that this breed is smart. They also have an eagerness to please so it makes them fairly easy to train. You can give them training which is firm, consistent and patient that also includes socialization when they are still puppy.

How about their healthy? This breed is generally healthy. Some of the health problems that may happen is skin problems, Von Willebrand, Renal disorders, Epilepsy, Hip dysplasia, Patellar luxation, Dilated cardiomyopathy, Patent ductus arteriosis, Sebaceous adenitis, Mitral dysplasia, Tricuspid dysplasia, Bloat and Allergies. Then, how about their grooming? This breed does not shed. Nevertheless, they need regular brushing to maintain their long coat which is soft and wavy. They also can have their furry coats both straight and curly that needs regular grooming such as brushing a few times a week and also trimming them when it is necessary, especially when it covers their eyes.
